Do you dream about finding the perfect dream retirement? Me, too. I think from the time I hit fifty onward, I was looking forward to retirement. I wanted my time to do what I wanted to do when I wanted to do it. It was always that old “money or time” conversation. When I did finally decide it was time to look away from the money and focus on “me”, I wondered if there would be enough money to live the even modest way I had lived when I was working.
I used to work with a woman who constantly talked about New Mexico and how wonderful Santa Fe was. Seasons, wide open spaces, and an eclectic, artistic culture. There was something mysterious and unknown about the thought of going to “New Mexico”. Imagine everyday sunny. Always a blue sky, as I look at it now from the wide open spaces of New Mexico.
